SRT to Text Converter
Paste subtitles or open an .srt or .vtt file. Numbers, timestamps and formatting tags are removed, leaving only the words.
Everything happens in your browser. The file and its text are not sent to YepSoso. Maximum 10 MB.
How to convert SRT to text
- Paste the subtitles above, or choose or drop an .srt or .vtt file.
- Choose one line per subtitle, or paragraphs. Paragraph mode starts a new paragraph where the speaker pauses.
- Copy the text or download it as a TXT file.
What gets removed
Subtitle numbers, timing lines, VTT headers and notes, and formatting tags such as <i> or {\an8} are removed. Line breaks inside one subtitle are joined.

Common questions
Is my file uploaded?
No. The conversion runs in your browser. The file and its text are not sent to YepSoso.
Does it work with VTT and auto-generated YouTube subtitles?
Yes. WebVTT files work the same way. Auto-generated captions often repeat the previous line at the start of the next one; keep Remove repeated lines turned on to drop those repeats.
The Chinese text looks garbled. What can I do?
Files saved as GBK/GB18030 are detected automatically. If the text still looks wrong, open the file in a text editor, save it as UTF-8 and try again.
Can I keep the timestamps?
Turn on Keep start times to add each start time, such as [00:01:23], in front of its line or paragraph.
Does it change the wording?
No. It only removes timing and formatting. To translate or correct a transcript, paste the video link into the Video Link to Text tool.
